Also tried mine out last weekend. Only thing beyond splatter was .223 incendiary left a bit of a mark but not much even there. Was pretty nifty sight I might add. We tried only .223 but started at 50 yards with a few sight in shots. Even those did no damage to speak of. Nice target!!!! THANKS!!!!

We also did pistols and carbine in, 9mm, 22 and .45 from 25 feet no problems, dents or anything coming back.

The most trouble I have had with chunks and pieces of bullets coming back at me was 45 ACP 230 FMJ. That stuff should'nt be shot at a solid target either.

I gave mine a quick test the other day - threw a quick coat of spray paint on it and then hit it with 4 shots of 230g .45 FMJ from about 10 yards or so. I managed to actually knock the paint off - other than that, there was absolutely no sign of damage to the target! :D

still need to work out a decent stand for holding it, but for the time being I can just hang the chains from a branch or something!

Sorry guys I was down in Mexico on business. I am back and ready to ship your targets, sorry for any delay. I replied to all of the private messages, if you sent one and did not get a reply it should be on the way.

Stand, used a shepard's hook for my bird feeders. One side hung from hook with chain other side over to the opposite the side of the hook held in place with vice grip. BTW .223 goes right through a vice grip

Someone earlier in the thread mentioned useing bolts extending out the back and then hung by chain.
And as mentioned causes the target to tilt which causes any splatter to be directed downward, And by being free to move may help disipate some of the impact energy.
I also wonder if it wouldnt help in someways as does slooped armor?

Yeah that is the idea - a static mounting of this plate will tend to make it wear faster and not re-direct energy. You are hitting more steel when there is an angle to the plate - and it is the same theory used with "sloped" armor - we call it something else. Oblique Armor...... Or Armor - SUpplimental Small Arms and Fragmentation Protective.

But we use another type of material - same Idea.

AWESOME!

1st Off, thank you Sigfan220 for offering us a fine product. On Friday I constructed a collapsible stand which just fits in my trunk. Two bolts is all that is required to erect the stand. The only thing I may change at this point is to add sheet metal to the inside to limit the damage caused by the bullet splatter. Nearly all hits are from 100M, except for the .32 ACP.

Pictures...

Winchester .22 Mag 40gr FMJ and Ultramax .223 55gr Soft Point (6 total, upper right and 1 lower)

Stand Folded, Marlin 882SSV .22Mag, Romy "G" 7.62x39, DPMS Sportical 5.56

Image
A few more hits, .22 LR, .22 Mag, .32 ACP, .223 and 7.62x39

At this point, it's probably a moot point. I ordered and received my targets from sigfan in a timely matter. Plates were exactly as described. Shot them with 45acp...no denting or anything. Will try with rifle as soon as possible. Very professional Order with confidence! :)

If this was an ebay auction. I would leave the following seller review

Nice pics Bessy!! Looks like you had fun. I have a similar setup and have found the wood to last a few range outings. The copper jackets really beat up the wood.

Thanks again for shipping the targets out to Hawaii. They've held up great in the 5-6 range visits I've made with them.
