Exactly. It's amazing how the people who claim to care about the Constitution the most seem to be the ones who understand it the least.

You you think are a troll, you guys have a lot to learn.

My stand on property rights is that I respect them and expect others to.

But our governor and VP candidate showed that the democrats don’t respect property rights at all, and your use of the bump stock ban to say Trump is worse is, shall we say, a stretch.

I think Trump behaved badly.

I think Harris will be worse as she is proposing much higher taxes.

Trump is a large property owner, somehow I doubt he’s going to be as laissiez faire about taking property as the democrats.

Were there better GOP choices? IMO, yes. But strangely, given the democrat rhetoric the GOP followed the primary voters wishes. It’s likely to cost the GOP and the country that they did so, but them are the rules.

As Hunter Thompson said, as long as we are willing to tolerate the lesser of two evils, the evils will get worse. The democrats could have run someone like Manchin who was a true moderate and Trump would be getting little traction. They doubled down on progressivism and now we have the sleazy real estate mogul vs. the progressive party machine candidate who would do anything for power.

It sucks.

Yes, Trump is not the only politician with an overly casual attitude towards our property rights. But no one here, as far as I know, is bending over backwards to justify Harris' actions. This forum is packed with Trump apologists, not Harris groupies.

As far as I know Harris and Trump will raise taxes. The Harris plan will increase taxes for corporations and people making over $400,000. People making that much can afford to pay more taxes, than the rest of the middle and lower class. Some of the tax breaks proposed by Trump would be limited to those who are able to pay less tax when itemizing. Few of the middle class are able to pay less tax when itemizing now that there is a $27,700 standard deduction. The only time I was able to realize a lower tax when itemizing was when I was paying 8.5% on a mortgage; for one year. Every other tax year I used the standard deduction.

Trump's plan is to benefit the wealthy more than the middle class and poor.

It's even worse than that. He wants to apply a blanket tariff on all goods coming to the US and at the same time get rid of income tax. Tariffs would need to be over 80% to cover the costs. In one fell swoop he'd add 10 times the price increases we saw under Biden. He's going to destroy the economy.

Trump is in the middle of a full blown dementia addled breakdown. There is no circumstance where he is a better choice than Harris. With Harris we might see red flag laws. With Trump, we will get to lose our guns and money by the time he is done.

Trump just did a three hour Joe Rogan podcast. Harris couldn't do a twenty minute segment on 60 Minutes without helpful CBS editing. If Trump has dementia, what is wrong with Harris

I recently saw a video of her, with the accompanying narration pointing out behaviors that suggested hunter biden may not be the only one in DC with a nose candy problem.
Now it seems that even in its current decrepit state, the democrats would have better judgement than to back someone with a drug problem. But considering the cover they could expect from the media, and deep state admin, which has done everything it could to hide Brandon's mental state, I no longer find it beyond the realm of possibility. Keeping President Trump out of office seems to be justification for just about anything right now.

If you buy that the Harris team is only going to raise taxes on those individuals making more than $400,000, you are probably so delusional you need meds.

Walz is on the ticket and he promised only the rich would get higher taxes too… but under $100000 a year became rich in MN.

When a democrat says he is going to raise your taxes, he will be RAISING your taxes.

When a Republican says that he will lower your taxes, he probably won’t, but likely won’t be significantly increasing them either.

You want an admission that Trump sucks? You’re right, he does. I’m not a supporter.

But trying to lecture all the people around you that they are wrong doesn’t make friends and influence people.

Why are folks supporting Trump? Sounds to me like it’s how Biden got in… dislike of the other side’s policies.

I’d love to have a articulate and intelligent conservative with morals running against an articulate and intelligent liberal with morals… but when was the last time that happened?

Obama vs McCain? Obama vs Romney? It’s only changed since 2016 for a pretty obvious reason.

They can raise the taxes on the personal income of people with gross income of $400,000 or more all they want. The thing is that the wealthy have any number of perfectly legitimate legal ways to put most of that money into non-taxable categories, because they take advantage of both tax breaks meant to help out the little guy (e.g. home buyer's credits) and tax breaks meant to promote business. To name just one example, because of deferred capital gains (if the value of your stock holdings goes up, you don't pay tax on it until you sell it), a sufficiently rich person could live for the rest of their life on bank loans (a debt, therefore non-taxable) with those not-yet-taxed stocks as collateral, with the principal and taxes owed not payed until after they're dead, when it becomes their estate's problem. It's like an antebellum plantation owner in the South living at ease in a mansion and being waited on by servants truthfully claiming that after paying interest on his outstanding mortgages, he technically didn't earn a dime of profit that year. So pledging to "tax the rich" is a largely symbolic gesture because those living in sybaritic luxury aren't going to be hit all that hard.
