Very depressing about a Navy SEAL

Apparently, the particular SEAL who killed bin laden is down on his luck. Not really focusing on the article after reading the last paragraph.

Has to be hard to assimilate back into civilian society especially when you are at that level.

Side Note: I recommend a visit to the 9/11 memorial/museum when anybody is in NYC. They really did a great job with it.

I imagine its kind of like that movie "the hurt locker"

Once you are trained in certain skills, it's hard to go back to cleaning gutters and mowing grass.

My excitement today was cleaning the shower floor. Not too horribly dangerous...
That must be hard for some in the military, coming out. I feel for them, and thank them for their service.

Several years ago, I read the book "Flags of Our Fathers", which chronicled the lives of the soldiers who appeared in the famous Iwo Jima flag photo. Tragic really, how hard it is for many soldiers to "come home".

Maybe instead of dumping bin laden in the ocean they could have auctioned his body to the highest bidder. Then they could put that money in a trust fund for all the SEALs who whine that life is hard.

when I found that his fundraiser was at 80,000$
I'd hope that enough hype could be drummed for the seal and that people would provide him at least as much ''help''?
I did not read the article though so I'm just assuming he needs $ based on comments here. you'd think he'd be as set as a bigtime pro football player that had a good year(wouldn't really need to ever work again)?

regarding the video and that poor ''kid'' if you're 20 and still at home, I think you should be walking on eggshells and your folks could kick you out for not wiping your feet once or failing to comb your hair to their liking much less for trying to tell them you make the rules? sure you can say they were discriminating against him but why should he even be bothering his parents with anything regarding sex or sexual preference :?

This guy was able to become a SEAL and kill a terrorist (who also happened to be Osama bin Laden) Good for him!

He's no longer in the Navy and his wife left him. Oh no! That sucks. Plenty of people have problems with relationships even if they're emperors. I'm sure a guy who's a ex-SEAL can find another partner.

The guy is also having trouble finding employment? Well so are a lot of people. There are plenty of resources the government and private corporations offer veterans to find work. Outside of that he can put down he was a SEAL on his resume. That's a pretty good hiring point for many prospective employers.

He is also talking to the media so he's most likely getting money for his interviews.

For every SEAL in the field there are thousands of military personnel backing them up.

If you think the guy is instantly entitled to an NFL players salary, parades and whatever else feel free to knock yourself out. Reach into your pocket and get out your wallet. Then get a pen and write your government representatives.

I don't like football so I have never paid much attention to it. apparently I have been missing something of great importance

annd: I hope its not a real change but I just saw a commercial that said dedicated to the fair treatment of all instead of whatever they said about the constitution before.
