.338 can be a very versatile round that can take anything in North America and if using the right load not a meat damager. I think savage did their homework when they offered that chambering.

I still haven't shot this gun yet... Weather has been too cold up until this last weekend. Thinking I'm going to wait until I get my glass, and muzzle device on it. Finding .338 win mag isn't as easy as I thought it would be for my area... Also it's not cheap... Average price I've seen for a box of 20 is $50... and up...

Starting to think getting it in the .308 caliber might of been a better idea...

Just an update. I was able to fire the rifle for the first time a few weeks back. The gun wasn't as hard of recoil as I anticipated. Even without a brake. Still need to get some glass on it. Funds have been limited lately. Damn AR15 keep sucking up all my funds...
