THAT is gorgeous. Back to basic beauty.

If I were to have a 1911 built to my specs, it would look just like yours.

Congratulations on one of the prettiest 1911 that I have seen.

Guys it isn't mine but I stole the picture for my computer.
Their builds start just under $5000 after you supply the gun to get a place in line.

I posted the link so we can all drool. I think it's absolutely stunning.

I'm normally the type to acknowledge that 1911s are good guns for people who are not me, but even I appreciate the beauty of that thing. It is, without any reservations, gorgeous, especially the grips.

Also, on a separate note, I want some of those ammo trays; they are just cool! Time to do some google searching...

Edit: if anyone else was curious, my google-fu was good enough to find the maker of the trays. Apparently they're CNC machined billet aluminum. Seems like they're probably pricier than I'm willing to go for, but they sure are cool.

That shop just does incredible work. I've wanted one from there for a long, LONG time...

And I'll be waiting a lot longer lol

I've seen one of their Colt 1903 jobs done to what initially was not a good looking gun at all. The blueing etc was unbelievable. Can't imagine having the extra $5K or wanting to do that to a 1903 but hey.................................

edit - looking at their web site it appears they only do 1911 but I am sure the guy said it was them and that he had it done something like 15 years ago. anywaaaayyyy........................

Beautiful piece of work. Am I the only one who noticed the WHITE trigger? Rather an eyesore compared to the rest of the the gun.

I agree. As aesthetically pleasing as the piece is to view, that trigger draws one eye to it in a bad way. Given obvious quality of work and attention to detail ( ie: front sight), the trigger is an out of place curiosity

Normally I would hate to see any "fix-up" of a vintage Colt, because I've seen some really awful hack jobs, but I make a big exception in this case.

That trigger looks like a silver Harrison Extreme short to me. Maybe it's the lighting.
That said I don't know what HP uses.

I love how the screws line up. I've seen that only on very expensive shotguns at Puglisi's in Duluth.

Its already been said, so I'll just add - WOW.

I have to believe even someone who isn't into guns would think that is beautiful.

I had to go back and look, because I hadn't noticed it!

To me it looks like it is chromed. To me that is actually how a 1911 "normally" looks, since my dad's 1911, the one I grew up shooting, had a matte, chromed trigger. What color did you expect it to be???

Have to agree it is beautiful though. Love that subtle, understated look more than some of the more extravagant styles.

Yup, that appears to be the same guy. Like I thought, it's a little hard for me personally to justify the $ when basic plastic ones (arguably) do the job just as well, if with less panache. I still think they're really cool, though. :)
