Postby illbits on Thu Jun 14, 2012 2:19 pm

*** SOLD VIA CRAIGSLIST ***
Looking to sell my Canon 1Ds Mark III body. Paid $8500 for it after tax for the privilege of keeping it in a pelican case for a couple years. Used only a handful of times and in excellent condition. Comes with all original accessories and packaging plus 1 additional battery. Asking $3500 $3000. Thanks for looking.

Would you trade for 3 Canon 10-D's...2 are unused backups. ???? ;) ;) ;)
My cost $4500.00
I'll throw in a 1 GB CF card I paid $300 for....

Also have a whole darkroom of 'vintage' developing gear. :)

I'm pretty sure you have to send the body to canon for an actuation count. I'm believe I'm overestimating when I say it is under 4k actuations. This thing is a tank, a few thousand actuations is nothing. Not looking for trades, just cashola to give to the government man.

On the professional level bodies I think the consumer can access the info by using the Canon software supplied with the camera...this is not possible on the amatuer bodies. It can be downloaded if necessary from Canon website. You can also embed DETAILED info such as your name, website, phone number , reward info in the EXIF info that is stamped onto each frame...could be usefull if camera is stolen.

Unlike the 5D series Im' pretty sure there is no user servicable way to get an actuatuion count on the 1D series. I was just looking for a guesstimate. If indeed only at the 4k mark, this thing is still a baby.

it is absolutely a baby. I make my living retouching so I have little use for my camera.

Looks like it would unfortunately need to be sent to Canon for an actuation count.

so, would this be a better camera than my Kodak i got from Walmart for $75? one of those point-n-shoot dealie-os.

seriously though, this thing sounds quite impressive
