Nope bad mistake. Good coach. Players with mongo Attitudes should have been cut.

Poor coach, acts like he's Belichick (without the rings). Was an offensive coordinator that didn't even call plays.

Then they would have nobody left to play the game.

He was positioning the team for a #1 draft choice for the 2011 season.

Err...wait. There won't be a 2011 season. 2012! Superbowl or bust! Go LA Vikes!

Right move, just way to late. Season is over anyways, bench #4, goodbye Madeiu Williams.

I could go either way on that one. If he couldn't control them or cut them, he probably wasn't the man for the job. Maybe, as you suggest, they had too many players with attitudes greater than the sum of their skills and abilities, but isn't that the job of the head coach to deal with everything involved in putting a good, functional team on the field. One of thier bigger problems was in pinning all their hopes on a washed up quarterback who just wanted one more ring and some more personal records. IMO, they needed to do this as an important first step in getting back to a functional team.

Favre isn't washed up. He's having a horrible year, but there have been a lot of factors in that. Loadholt seems to be actively working with defensive lines to get to Favre. I swear half the times Favre gets hit it's because Loadholt was the 5th pass rusher. Losing Chester Taylor turns out to be a huge loss for the Vikes (but the way the season is going, probably good for him).

And the D... Sorry, but you can't put that on Favre either.

Favre came off of one of his best seasons ever, and it's not that he doesn't have the talent to do it. He's still the best quarterback on the team, but the chemistry isn't there. No Rice hurts a lot. Being out of sync due to staying out of camp...well, he could have fixed that. But it's still not the reason the team is 3-7.

You could be right about Farve. But, when you have a bad year at age 41, it's kind of unlikely that you can come back with a better year at age 42. I'm pretty sure that the distractions surrounding him and the girl in NY didn't help. Not sure if this is true or not, but I heard from a Vikings fan that his wife pulled out and went back to MS over this. That has to be on his mind some. But, he's doing the same **** he did in GB at the end. When the chips are down, and maybe there are some holes in the rest of the team due to injury or whatever, he tries to hard to be the man. Witness his interceptions and other turnovers. He's making bad choices. That is all on him, no one else.

Yup. He was definitely worth the risk though. It paid off last year. This year, not so much. But he's still Brent Farve and plays smart. Usually. His knowledge of the game is pretty deep, and experience does help.

He shouldn't come back next year. Time to start developing our own talent. He was a hail Mary pass that paid off nicely last year.

That may be.

But jest yesterday, Payton manning had 3 interceptions ... Eli Manning had 3 interceptions ... and Vick had a fumble. Today, these are (arguably) 3 of the top quarterbacks in the league. Despite their ("poor") performance, the Queens'd be lucky to have any one of 'em.

Personally, I'd fire the whole team, or ship them off to Texas or something. Bunch of overpaid whiners stealing my money at gunpoint to build ever fancier playgrounds. Hell with 'em.

And, given their history of developing young quarterback talent, maybe they should send out some feelers. But, back on topic, another negative for childress was his inability to productively challenge referee's calls. He loses too many and fails to challenge when he should.

I just didn't like the way he looked. Someone should tell him that mustaches aren't cool. Doesn't he know he's on national TV? Try to *look* like you're a professional, even if you can't get the results.

Despite all the bad things we are saying about him, he must have been able to do something right. He did take a 6-12 team and make it a 12-4 team, if by nothing else developing talent and putting a good set of players together. He just couldn't coach them. Maybe he would be better suited to being a director of player personnel. Or to give mustache rides. Anything but being a head coach.
