Food, and wet wipes. gotcha. I'll have to kit the beach more often to see if I can find any sand-wishes though.

Also, my girlfriend might be coming along, but I doubt will be shooting. Although after seeing her hit her parrotlet in flight with a squirt gun from the hip worries me for when she does start shooting...

Mike, I got in touch with my hunting buddy that lives in Hutchinson. He MAY come to the shoot, but is also interested in pheasant hunting that day. Worst case, I can find out from him where any public hunting land might be nearby. His participation in the steel shoot all hinges on what his two boys intend on doing.

That would be cool if he comes! We have county maps that show all (or most) of the public land. That's our usual pheasant hunting routine; get out the county maps and plot a course to stop by all the little public areas

I did find out that there's some good public lands out there and one is technically a waterfowl area, but the pheasants are supposed to be plentiful. The caveat to that is one would have to use steel shot in that particular area. (just a heads up)

I'm used to carrying both in the vehicle and reloading with whatever is appropriate at each stop

Well, looks like plans have changed. Looks like I'll be at the hunting shack Friday & Saturday and no steel shoot. Of course, I can pheasant hunt or do all the plinking I care to do at the shack.

Today is a good day to load some ammunition for shooting steel...and that's exactly what I'm doing. I upped the dose of Unique in this batch of 9mm to help with those dang poppers. I've got more components sitting around than I've ever had in my two months of reloading and the potential is exciting. I can load as much or as little as I please as long as I don't mind the slowish pace of my single-stage press.

I've got way more 9mm brass than components thanks to RET and jac714. Thank you, kind sirs.

While I initially considered running out the night of the last steel shoot and buying a caliber that can actually knock down poppers in under five hits, finances didn't allow. I guess I'll just have take the ridicule I deserve yet again. ;)

Circumstances have changed and I may be able to go. The only question I have left is whether I can afford the gas to get out there and back. Anybody willing to pick me up and give me a lift? I can pay in Pizza if you'd like.
