I waited something like six months for my Robinson XCR. Excellent rifle, and I've waited much longer than that for others, but the thing that got me bent was the fact that this rifle was supposedly "in stock." Six months of lies and incompetence later it finally arrived, and with the wrong barrel. I didn't even bother sending the barrel back for the correct one, figuring that it would take more months to get another "in stock" item that they messed up on in the first place. The employees acted like they were stoned at times and didn't care at others. I was told once that I never ordered a rifle, even though I had talked to them several times before and they had no problem finding the order then. I was told twice that the rifle already shipped, when in fact it would be some months yet before it actually did.
They make an excellent rifle, but they are absolutely horrible at customer service, running a company, and telling the truth.
Regarding whether it's worth it, I suppose that's relative. If I only had one gun, I'd say a wait longer than a few days wouldn't be worth it. If you have several, then you're not really waiting around doing nothing while the gun takes its time getting to you. Also, whether the wait is worth it is also based on the aggravation it causes. FN was right up front about the wait on a rifle I ordered, and never made any promises, so I was happy to wait over a year. Robinson, SIG, and TDI have given me different levels of overly optimistic estimates or outright falsehoods on various occasions, and that hassle makes the wait a little less worth it to me. Now I've learned to just sit back and occupy myself with other things, and when the gun comes in I've basically forgotten about it and am pleasantly surprised.
