I called Smith today and backordered 2 of the 12 round mags for $70 delivered. They have no idea when they are getting some in. The way they are selling these guns- they need to keep a good stock on hand just for shipping with the firearm. Hopefully nothing will happen to the one mag i have when i start carrying it around the farm- or i will have to go back to the buckmark or the single-six-- both are more cumbersome to carry.
Glocks-- 17,19,26 in 9mm and the 21 and 36 in .45auto-- S&W M&P Shield 9mm
Ruger LCP and LCR
Bolt and lever guns for deer
Buckmark and M@P .22 pistols for summer varmint carry
Mini-14 and Rem. 870 for all types of vermin.

Farmer maybe you or anyone else who has the M&P 22 can tell me how it compares to your Buckmark for accuracy. I'd like to find something smaller to carry (on the farm) than my Ruger MK2 Target without giving up too much accuracy, hitting those little tannerite targets at a safe distance is tough enough with a hand gun! (for safety sake I should clarify its not the brand name tannerite iirc its called scarecrow, not sure if tannerite comes in a 22lr version)
Teach a man to fish.....? Why not teach him how to make and sell the rods so he can make some money. Nobody wants to eat fish everyday.

I am able to get just as tight of groups with my M&P as my standard Buckmark-- it is a little harder to do so though. The M&P has a very different trigger so you have to get use to feeling where the break is and really concentrate on that front sight and the target.

I bought this gun for the same reason- wanted a lighter gun to carry than my buckmark for skunks and striped gophers. It feels about half as heavy when i carry it.

I should add- rapid fire at 15 yds puts all 12 shots into a target the size of a skunks midsection-- so the heavy concentration is only needed for really small targets-- striped gophers.

You need to make head shots only on skunks or they will spray you! Shoot a skunk in the midsection and he may still spray you!

I like my M&P 22 also. Just wish I could get a couple more magazines.

I shoot them farther away with multiple body shots. And i have shot them in the head after catching them in live-traps-- they still let some go and stink horrible.

I backordered a couple more mags from Smith-- no idea when they will come.

Was shooting mine yesterday and the roll pin in the slide had started working its way out the ejection side of the slide. Needed a light cleaning anyways so i fieldstripped and tapped it back in with my Glock tool and a hammer. If it keeps happening i might try some light powered lock-tite on it.

I just received notice that Midway has the 10 round magazines. They limit you to two.

I have ordered my two for $26 each (dealer price). The 10 round magazine can easily be modified to 12 rounder magazines (just take them apart and remove the stop).

When I received notice the 12 rounder magazines were in stock, they were gone in a couple hours. I was too late to get those.

And it's gone! Just tired to add one to my cart, and they are sold out already!

My two were added to a cart. I fully checked out. Got a note the order was in process waiting to be shipped.

Now I just need to wait for shipping confirmation and for them to arrive at the door. I'll believe it then.

I hope it goes through. I've been trying to order some extra magazines since I bought an M&P 22 in January. They ship with only ONE magazine.

Midway's notification that they had some of the M&P 22 10 round magazines in stock was sent 9:01 AM.

I received it at 9:02 AM.

I immediately ordered 2 (the limit they would allow, I also ordered a RCBS #8 45 ACP Auto Rim shellholder, on backorder). Time order was completed was 9:18 AM. They accepted the order, so I'm assuming there were still some when I ordered them.

It would be interesting how many they received.

Interesting- i still haven't received mine-- would think they would fill factory backorders before sending out to places like midway. they make more money when they cut out the middle man.

Anyone know of a source where I can pick one of these up? Wife is taking her PTC class and is not YET comfortable with anything larger than a .22. Figured the M&P, Walther or Ruger SR might be a good option.
Well, when I see 5 weirdos dressed in togas stabbing a guy in the middle of the park in full view of 100 people, I shoot the bastards. That's my policy.
