FYI, my lower is completely stripped and mags still stick.

CMMG has stated they in no way warrant these lowers. They knew the magwells were tight and say they notified the distributor that bought them, RSR. RSR was supposed to notify dealers.....not sure where the communication breakdown occurred. I'm changing the thread title to reflect CMMG's quality/service (or lack thereof).

This is the first blem I've ever come across that is dimensionally incorrect.

So...they're really not "blems"..... CMMG has sold out-of-spec, frankly defective lowers.

That is correct, and there's threads all over various firearm forums addressing the issue. They are refusing any recourse also.

Sounds like an unfortunate error in judgement on CMMG's part, while they may have been assured by the distributor this would be disclosed something did not happen right their name is on the product and will be sullied as a result (in part because they are not taking care of it after the fact... which is also a mistake). Sounds like they should dump the distributor... and probably would have been better to scrap the lot rather than risk having them get into the wild without the appropriate disclosure.

It's definitely an issue with CMMG and/or their distributor. NOT the dealers fault.

Well I'm going to send a complaint to CMMG and let them know that I'll be taking my business elsewhere in the future. This is the kind of shoddy business practice that causes people to take their business elsewhere.

Seems like it... sucky situation for everyone involved that all starts when CMMG decided to make a few bucks on what should have been scrap. I assume you were one of the dealers who got stuck with the bad stock from RSR minus the disclosure of magwell spec?

Assuming the angle of the magwell is correct so you're not getting binding of the mags, I'd not worry a bit about taking a file to it to remove the high spots from the inside of the magwell. Run some finer grit sandpapers thereafter, and then aluma-black the raw aluminum. She'll be as good as new and you'll never think about it again.

Grousemaster,

It sucks to here about your experience. If we had any lowers in stock I'd offer to hold one for you. Not trying to add insult or anything, but if you are looking to get rid of it or try to get something back out of it let me know. I have a training company on the side and am looking to cut a lower up to make a cut away gun for classes. Shoot me a PM if you're interested. The tight magwell wouldn't bother me at all as it would be getting milled out in various areas.

Thanks, Dave
