Honestly, i would say you are wrong to be upset. Disagreeing is fine.

But in the free world, a guy has the right to do what he see's fit with his firearm sales. You and I dont get to decide other people's policies for them.

Just my opinion. You are entitled to yours, as he is his, no matter how wrong or right you think it is.

Unfortunate but not worth getting undies in a bundle over. Seller can have any reason they want not to sell. You might ask him nicely (if not too late already) to explain his reasoning.

Disappointed for sure, especially for a nice Tikka.

I would be upset too. However, I believe it is the sellers right to sell to whomever THEY want, at the price the seller wants.

A guy with those strong of ideals is not likely to change his mind. And hes got a right to his opinions. Sucks for you, and your son though. I don't see any reason a 140 pound kid couldn't shoot a .308, as long as he has experience with rifles. Don't want to induce a flinch problem. Good luck on finding a gun. They make them new every day, so you should be able to find one.

Might be somethin' wrong with it?! ... might be why he's sellin' it?! ... maybe his conscience won't let him risk injuring a 13yr-old?!

That is too bad, it's a Tikka! :| ... good price?!

I never ever tell sellers what my intent for a weapon are. That is my business and as a responsible gun owner is my responsibility not the sellers as to what I do with it. But I agree with the others, he is entitled to his choices...I cant say that I havent refused to sell things to some people. I had a 2006 Charger R/T that I had alot of work done to that should have been turning in the ball park of 400HP out of it. I listed it for sale and I had an 18yr old kid call me saying that he had the money to buy it from me....I met him and after seeing him and how he tore into the parkinglot with his current vehicleI refused to sell it to him. That car would have put that kid into a coffin and I knew it. That was way too much car for him. So I do see where the guy was coming from, but it is a bit different having a responsible father there to help guide. I would have sold it to you, but thats me....I know this thread is old but its not too far from the top....

I. Woulda sold it to you. But the seller has the right to refuse to anyone. Maybe he was worried about a problem with the gun and couldn't live with it injuring a kid? There are a number of things that turn a seller off......move on, millions,of other options out there. Consider the el cheapo mosin Nagant, a $100 rifle from fleet farm. I Put $150 into a scope setup on mine and now,it is one heck of a $250 rifle, very accurate ! It would put your kid on his butt...... but fun to shoot.
Anti-gun goofs fail to realize that if they melt every gun on the planet & I want you dead, a claw hammer would do the trick!! Then what? Ban claw hammers?
