Baffle strikes

Anybody here had problems with baffle strikes?

I had a minor one the other day with my 300 BLK can. First round must have come out a bit unstable or off axis. Mowed a small groove down the inside of the baffles before it excited the end of the silencer without doing any damage. The silencer exit hole is still round and shows no sign of a stike.

The can still shoots fine, but if you look down the bore you can see the groove. I'm going to keep shooting it and see what happens...

None that I’m aware of. What are the specs of the can and ammo?

What mount? Three lug? Direct thread?

Sometimes threads are not perfectly cocentric. Sometimes a mount has some slop. Sometimes both are present, and you get the perfect storm.

No, an alignment tool does not come with them. I've never had an issue with any of mine.

There could be a number of reasons but at this point there's no real info to warrant a discussion of them.

Most baffle strikes seem to occur due to use of crush washers. You should bring your rifle and the can to Atomic Tactical, they can check the alignment.

The can is a Silencerco Specwar 762.

Looks machined to me. Are you liking the suppressed 300 enough to recommend it to others?

Yes. This AR Pistol uses an adjustable gas block on a 10.5 inch barrel. The 300 BLK is remarkably quiet using subsonic ammunition. The predominant sounds are the cycling of the action and the loud "DING" of the round hitting a steel target. The first time people shoot it they usually have a big grin on their face.

The subsonic rounds don't shoot flat for very long so there's no need for a high power scope. If the RMR is sighted in at 50 yds. The holdover will be 8 inches at 100 yds and 50 inches at 200 yds. No long range shooting...
