Hi everyone,

My name is Mark Utecht. I have been waterfowl and deer hunting my whole life with shotgun only (rifled slug area). Got out of waterfowling a few years back. Got into bowling at North Branch Bullseye three years ago. Bought my first rifle recently because I wanted one, nuff said. My wife, Mary, and I are both proud to be permitted and practicing carry folks.

We just got into 3 gunning in the last two weeks. Took the skills builder class and I shot in the Jeff Kirkwold Memorial this past weekend. I have a LOT to learn.

I come from a background in sports car racing. Autocross, RallyCross, Road Racing, Road Rally and Stage Rally. I am an instructor for the Brainerd International Raceway Performance Driving School, including racing, teen schools, corporate events and EVOC training. There are a great number of similarities in the mental preparation and performance between racing and shooting.

I want to thank all the folks that have offered help to my wife and I at the events of the last two weekends. The folks in the shooting sports have been great to us.

I look forward to even more fun with this group in the future.
Mark Utecht

Welcome to the forum and welcome to the sickness of 3-gun. I was also at the match last Sunday as Jeff was a personal friend and shooting team mate. Glad you were able to make it out and hope you had a good time. I'm also a car guy, though that has taken a back seat to shooting the last few years.

Here's my toy that gets driven about once a year these days if it's lucky. I've had it since I was 20 and we're the same age. This video was taken as I pulled it out of storage when we moved to our new house last summer. Currently running 543HP of big small block goodness.

Welcome from Forest Lake! Being I am a member at FLSC, I hope you enjoyed the venue for the Jeff Kirkwood Memorial 3-gun.
