Hi Guys, You may have seen a couple of my posts in other areas of the site but I figured I'd better stop in and introduce myself. My name is Joe and I'm from Maple Grove. I started getting into the gun hobby a few years back when one of my other hobbies were frustrating me. The gun bug bit and here I am now. If you're wondering what that other hobby was, it was hod rodding. I got sick and tired of spending money on high performance parts that just led to nothing but more broken parts, more wasted money and more wasted time and heartbreak. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy nice and fast cars, but the return on investment is absolutely worthless.
Years ago when my frustration leval was peaked, a friend of mine invited me out shooting. All I had was my dad's 1953 Marlin 39A that was handed down to me. I had shot it several years before that, but decided it was time again to try it out. A few hours in my friends backyard shooting at his range and I was hooked again. Having as much fun as I did, I went out and bought my first handgun. A Springfield 1911 GI model. I wanted something like the boys had back in WWII. Not impressed with the quality and functionality, I sold it a couple years later. That gun left a real sour taste in my mouth. I still wanted another 1911 so this time around I bought the real deal. A Colt o1918 WWI reproduction. I absolutely love it and the quality is 100x better than the springfield ever dreamt about. I've got one shooting session through the colt and then one day my friend took me shooting again, this time with his ruger mark ii target pistol. Oh my goodness, I've never had so much fun shooting in my life. For as cheap as they sell for, I have to have 1, or 2 or 3 That gun is so friggin' accurate, it's amazing. I can shoot a 1-inch group at 75 feet. WITH A PISTOL AND OPEN SIGHTS! Now my quest is on to find me a couple of NIB examples of Ruger Mark II pistols. Anyways, there's a lot more to my life story, but I plan on hanging around here awhile so as times goes on, I'll blab some more. Looks nice a nice forum to hang around and keep up the good work
