In an brazen and shocking move against constitutional rights, the State of California has filed a lawsuit against the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (more commonly known as the A.T.F.), to not just make 80% lowers illegal in California, but to have a FEDERAL BAN enacted nationwide.

They need to register every 1/2 kg of aluminum, steel, or polymer that could be turned into a gun. Turn the place into a manufacturing wasteland. The last few aerospace/defense places I worked... were using downturns, mergers, etc. as opportunities to trim and consolidate plants. And it seemed that every time that happened, some place in California got closed.
