Ammo. What does a 'good deal' mean to you?

What constitutes a good deal in your book, in terms of price per round, for the following commercial loads? Like the highest price you'd pay and still consider it a good deal. Just curious how it breaks down among the community. Assume mid-high end labels. Federal, etc.

What is the sound of one hand clapping? It's an indefinable quantity. We all have our own desperation and need levels, and it's beginning to look like prices and supply will never get back to pre- Sandy Hook levels. Plus Obama is really starting to ignore Congress with 3 years left through Executive Orders, and the continuing failure of Obamacare will just make him more desperate and totalitarian. As far as a maximum price people will pay today, check back in a month if they still can't find anything to buy and the number will be different. Everybody has their own buy point based on their personal situation as time passes, so I doubt you can build any sort of objective price curve from whatever data you get.

Most of your list isn't relevant to me, as I don't own guns in those calibers. As for 9mm and .380, I reload those; I figure if I'm paying $0.035 or less per primer and $0.09 or less per projectile, I'm doing ok. (Throw in the powder, and 9mm runs me about $0.13 or $0.14 per round.) I've got enough of those to last me a while anyway, though; it's powder I'm worried about. It's nigh impossible to find the kinds I'd prefer to use right now.

As for ammo I actually buy, I paid $25 + tax for 500 rounds of .22LR a week or two ago and thought it was an acceptable price. (Not hoarding, I plan to shoot it, plus 500 rounds doubled my total supply of .22, so I'm *not* the problem.)

Wideners has Prvi Partizan M193 for 40¢/rd and IMI for 42¢/rd.

I haven't looked for 45ACP for a while but I seem to remember 50¢/rd. Don't know if we'll ever see pre SH pricing again.

22LR gets scarfed off the shelf as fast as it's put out at under 8¢/rd and is tough to find at under 12¢.

Just combed through a few usual sources for Wolf 22lr. Typical 'high price' a year ago was about $0.10/ rd, and it was scarce. Most places have it priced @ $0.15/ rd, unavailable; at best 'backorder-able' - few are even accepting orders.
The only thing that seems available is the high end stuff, starting around $0.40/ rd.
It really takes a bit of enjoyment out of shooting not knowing if one will be able to replace what's being shot….at any price.

If Spartan is going to get $2 gas I want a 35 yr old, brunette, 5'8, 125lb, 36c, house girl. But much like I don't expect $2 gas anytime in my life time my wife says not to hold my breath for the brunette either. Ammo prices are what they are, bitching about them is a waste of time.
