Must have been He bought it. I'm talking ammo prices here not gun prices. Stay on topic please.

I thought I was on topic.
You were talking about a guy buying a gun at GM and asked about ammo.
Sorry.

Sorry John, the guy just happened to be buying a gun. Or I would have never known the price of the ammo. I could be misunderstanding your post also. You could be sarcastically asking. Because we all know most of they time they are high on gun prices. I'm cool John it's over with. Sorry for the drama Sir. .

I hope now you realize there is no logical connection between guns and ammo.

I dont think its price "gouging". If people will pay it, than so be it. If not, they can shop somewhere else.... Oh, somewhere else has no ammo. Why, you ask? Because they sold it off too cheap and the GB scalpers got it. Now they are selling it more more money yet. Once this "secondary market" dries up, prices will come down. Shelves will be stocked and no body will be buying it. Supply and demand.
It is better to have a gun and not need it, than to need a gun and not have it.

As for ammo, ya they high except .22 normal like every where else except the gun shows :(

Yea they have one at frontiersman for $670. I was shocked. Last time I saw one there it was $600. But I would still rather give Frontiersman my business even if Gander was cheaper. Oops sorry I got off topic. Forgive me...

+1 on that.

It's guns and ammo, it's not a specialty item like a Ferrari is; and where the nearest dealership is in Chicago. Here we have lots of options for B&M stores + online for guns and ammo. No one puts a gun to anyone's head and forces them to shop at GM do they? I have never stepped foot inside of GM, but I've read enough about them from multiple sources, looked at their website, so I know that they are overpriced and going there is a waste of resources (time, money, effort), so why bother? Why would anyone put themselves through that?

I would guess it was 9mm. Because it is like 24.99 at Wallyworld and FF when they have it.

I went to Cabelas today and bought 1000 rounds of 5.56, Bulk pack of .22lr Golden bullets and 2 boxes of small rifle primers. Strange to see all the shelves full of ammo! I'd like to thank Gander Mountain for having their grand opening this morning, which apparently caused Cabelas to stock up. And I didn't have to wait in line outside in the parking lot!

They had 100 rd boxes (500 rd max) of American Eagle 5.56 for $42.99/per 100. And Federal 5.56 1000 bulk for $499.99. So the American Eagle was a much better price, but I was a nice guy and bought a 1000 rd bulk to split with a buddy who wasn't there.

The .22lr was 23.99 per 525 rds.

Good heavens! The line was clear across the parking lot. Much better over at Cabela's. No chick screaming out your number for guns. Nice selection of ammo today there at the big C. Thank you Screamer Mountain :D

Boy, I think I saw some of the big yellow boxes of UMC in .380 at Cabela's just now. Pretty sure it was .380 and not .38 special, since I didn't pay much attention to it (I have a .38, not a .380). Sorry, didn't look at price. Also unsure of FMJ, but you should be able to tell since UMC probably only comes in one type in bulk.
