I've done a MO with a seller on GB, but only one that had solid ratings and was 'verified'. I know that's not a guarantee, but the ratings and track record do separate them from the true fraudsters. As noted, there is almost no protection with a MO, just like a personal check, cashier's check, or cash. Only a credit card offers buyer protection (well, possibly PayPal, but that's not for firearms stuff).

So, I pay Visa whenever possible, MO if the seller has a great track record, or cash face-to-face.

Been there also. While they do investigate and file cases no attempt is made to recover funds on your behalf. I had to go there and talk to local DA to press charges. They picked the guy up on Xmas eve and he stayed in jail for 3 weeks until he agreed to pay rather than be put in jail for fraud. I fly for free and Cincinati cop picked me up and got me a discount suite at a Mariotte. Really didn't get enough back until Ebay did a fraud refund a month later.

What was your process of getting your money back?

Lost MO form only needed my signature at that time. Don't know why it would now require 2. Took them just short of forever to refund.

PS Form 8165 is the form or Call 1-877-876-2455 (press option “4” to report suspected mail fraud).
