sorry to start with a rant

Postby ZeroGame on Wed Feb 29, 2012 9:56 pm

I spent days last week getting the run around and leaving voicemail with staff at bills shop and range. I was tring to set up a full auto rental for a buddies 40th bday. I had to turn the task to a buddy who after a boatload more calls got someone to help him. first they said all good at robinsdale but upon the return call we had to reshedule to circle pines, not a real biggie. so we get there and at first they were like what reservation, took them about 20 minutes to find out that we werent full of it. sure it worked out but I still never got a call back. so today I made a comment about poor customer service on their facebook page, instead of trying to find out what my complatint was, they deleted my comment. so I posted again, they deleted that too. after another post and delete they have blocked me.

needless to say, I wont be a customer at Bills again

other grippes prior to this:
always way overpriced (just bought a sig P238 for $560 with lazser elsewhere, bills was a 100 bucks more)
will lowball any trade you bring in
50 bucks to transfer, are you nuts!

Is a post on facebook really that important? Can a guy complain if a facebook comment is deleted?

Did ya post on your facebook page or Bill's facebook page???

If bills has a facebook page, should you be in charge of what gets posted on their facebook page? Then I guess I'll take charge of what people post on your page, I'm not very creative though, you may not like it.

I kind of understand his position. I've had Dish Network delete comments on Facebook in the past. If a company creates a public profile on Facebook, then deletes negative comments instead of trying to service the customer, doesn't say something about the company?

Before going public with something I'd try and work it out with them offline, if you did that and were unhappy with the outcome then I'd go more public if it was something I felt needed to be.

Gotta do what you think is right, but in the end the method you choose to use may or may not be the best - and it 'is' their little portion of Facebook to do with as they please, really no different than you taping a note on their door and them removing it.

Here's the thing with people today - for better or worse, thanks to social media, they're MUCH more likely to air their gripes in a public forum rather than strictly privately to a company. Companies need to understand thats the type of customer they have these days, and strive to make it right the first time.

I shoot a bad set of wedding photos -- I'll hear about it from Facebook, then Twitter, then theKnot.com, etc etc etc...I make sure that I give them recourse long before it gets to that...and that I don't shoot a bad wedding in the first place! :)

If you want results, talk to Bill's gun shop, not their facebook friends.

I'm an old PIA but I don't care: Facebook, Twitter, and social meda in general are colossal wastes of time. And no, I DON'T have a cell phone and never will unless my employer shoves one down my throat and pays the tab, which I strongly discouraged them from doing.

(I told them I carry my wallet, keys, and gun. End of discussion.)

A year or so ago I briefly had a Facebook page in a fake name, which rather defeats the point. All kinds of people wanted to be my "friend." I also consider such sites to be a huge security risk.

+++1 Colossal waste of time is an understatement! I have a cellphone only because I might need it at work...it's 8 years old and still works great as a PHONE! You can keep all those Blackberry and Droid doohickeys...I have a desktop computer if I need the Internet. ;)
