In keeping with its commitment to provide a safe work environment, IBM prohibits the carrying of weapons on IBM property. (W3 search on BCG) - Weapons of any sort are not permitted on IBM premises. This prohibition extends to IBM parking lots (1), leased buildings, and recreation areas.
(1) Minnesota: IBM may not prohibit the lawful carry or possession of firearms in a parking facility or parking area if those activities are performed in compliance with Minnesota Statute 624.714. Exceptions to this policy are as follows:
-Military or law enforcement personnel in the performance of duties
-Armored car escorts making pickups and deliveries (escorts are to have sidearms holstered while on IBM property)
-Contracted Security personnel to whom the Geographic Director of Security has granted authority to carry firearms
-Authorized IBM Club activities
-IBM employees as approved by the Corporate Director of Security
-Violations should be reported immediately to Security.
