Custom Srigs Holster for Sig Sauer P226 X5

Postby Inspiribomb on Sun Oct 03, 2010 9:38 am

I wanted something a little different for my P226 X5 Competition, so I asked Erik to make a custom holster for it. Originally was thinking snakeskin, but saw this red sting-ray skin and had to have it. The finished product is better than I could have hoped for. A big thanks to Erik for the outstanding work here, another exceedingly happy customer! Here are a few pictures:

It makes you want to get a matching pair for extra tacticality?

Because the X-5 has a longer dust-cover, a standard P226 holster will not fit it. I had my Srigs holster within 2 weeks of handing my gun over for the mold; pictures do not do it justice. If you want to see if firsthand, maybe we can meet up and do some shooting with the X-5's.

I agree about the poly grips. They work, but are cheesy. I want to buy the nice wood grips for mine, but can't justify the cost right now (plus it's an excuse to buy the Level 1). I also wish they offered the grips in other wood types as well.

That is way cool. I didn't know anything about stingray hide until I googled it after seeing that holster. It looks like there's only one of those 'third eye' features on each hide, so I'm guessing it ain't cheap. Really spooky neat looking!

Stingrays are one of the exotics I love to do. It has a major benefit that they wear like iron because of the cartilage pebble finish.

It was a fun project.

I wore the X5 around the house today in the holster, and was absolutely blown away by how comfy it is. I also have an Srigs double-layer gun belt. The X5 tucks up tight against the body and doesn't weigh me down. I was really surprised by how well it hides under an untucked shirt. Wearing this IWB would be a cinch to conceal even with a T-shirt. Now I need to find an X5 Level 1 to go with it ;)
