Trijicon or TFOs

Postby jgutz21 on Wed Jan 18, 2012 12:09 pm

Well, Trijicon or TFOs for my Springfield XD??? The only night sights I have owned are the factory Glock NS off my G23. I think TFOs would be sweet during the day, but who has better/brighter Tritium tubes? Thanks

John

Who is going to swap the sights for you? I hear that XD sights are a pain to swap out.

Bills GS, they said they are fine doing XDs, $20. And I don't even have to drive there, just mail them the slide and they will take care of the rest!

I have both. The TFOs are brighter in all conditions.

Are the TFOs cased in plastic or steel? I have seen some reviews about them maybe not being able to take abuse?

Both Trijcons and TFOs are priced on Amazon for just $85 for the XD.

I'd heard that if you buy the sights through them installation might be included. It's worth checking out.

$85+$20 < $150 Wow. Even with installation, that's quite a price difference though.

+1 for TFOs, except for the front fiber falling out at the range... fixed with a dab of super glue and it's stayed put now for 1500+ rds.

They are all metal construction. I haven't had any problems with mine but they have only seen maybe 600 rounds on two different handguns. I prefer orange rear green front meprolights. But really can't say my preference is better. I also have a TFO on me defensive shotgun. That's seen 50 rounds of 00 tap ammo. No issues with that one either.

Bill's has the XD TFOs for 124.95, installed

During the last two Shooter's Shows (two months from now), we have had them for 99.00 bucks installed

"Brighter tubes" are something of a myth. Almost all manufacturers are sourcing their tubes from the same place, NTP Radioisotopes of South Africa.

Thanks, I thought I was told $150, but $125 isn't all that bad of a price. Might look into that over Amazon. Thanks for the clarification.
