Glock has a factory in Georgia. (Many other manufacturers have local factories, too.) Why Glock hasn't used that factory to make a single stack 9mm (since they would no longer be restrained by the import point system) to compete with the Walther PPS and S&W M&P Shield is beyond me... They'd sell like hotcakes. As much as I like my PPS, I would get a thin, single stack Glock in a heartbeat.

Funny, I set aside my single stack Kahr for the GLOCK must days.

@whiteox - You seem to have an unhealthy trust of politicians. Especially those on the left.

As I recall, back in the George H.W. Bush run for re-election in '92 the Democrats used his "no new taxes" pledge against him over and over during the campaign. This was after he "crossed the aisle" as they like to say now, and worked in good faith after the Dems "promised" they would not make it a campaign issue since he gave them what they wanted.

So you'll excuse me if I don't exactly trust a guy that denies he's against the second amendment while talking gun bans.
Or, for that matter, after he continually denies being a Marxist despite his multiple close ties with known Marxists throughout his life and currently has several as advisors.

On top of that, all Schumer, Feinstein and the rest of the leftists in the federal government have been trying to do for decades is get guns of any kind banned. And the ONLY reason the last "assault" weapons ban was repealed had nothing to do with the Democrats. (even though anyone with an ounce of brains knows the vast majority of gun owners cannot afford the price it takes for permitting to own true "assault" weapons)

Yeah, you may not own a scary black gun or a handgun but it won't be long and your standard semi auto Winchester, Remington or Browning rifle (or pump action shotguns for that matter) you hunt with with fall on that list of banned items too.

The Second amendment give us the right to keep and bear arms. It doesn't say only the arms that aren't scary looking and can only be used for hunting. Hell, they are trying to get hunting and fishing outlawed by trying to pass "Non-Lethal" wildlife management. but that's another topic.

You trust who you want to trust and the rest of us will not trust the Feds. In the end, you'll be the one kicking yourself for not seeing through them.
SECOND AMENDMENT: Because one day we'll need this right to protect the rest of our rights[/color]

+1 for the above!
Hell, I don't trust ANY government....city state, or Federal! They're all self serving and only really care about THEIR jobs.

I don't know what you guys are so worried about, the MN DFL spells out their super-strong pro-2A stance right in their platform:

"Public Safety And crime prevention
We advocate strong law enforcement policies combined with vigorous crime prevention programs that emphasize education, treatment and rehabilitation.
We Support:
• Protection of victims of crime through the mandatory arrest of domestic abusers and mandatory sentences for convicted rapists, as well as government-funded programs to house, treat, counsel and educate victims of abuse, rape or other violence.
• Protection of children exposed to abuse or violence, with stiff penalties for child abusers.
Reasonable firearm policies that promote public safety and crime prevention without infringing on the rights of hunters and other sports enthusiasts.
• Enforcement of traffic safety laws, particularly against chemically impaired drivers.
• Mandatory sentencing of drug dealers.
• Abolition of capital punishment, and freedom from unreasonable searches, seizures and surveillance contrary to our constitutional rights."

See? As long as you are a hunter or a "sports enthusiast" you have nothing to worry about. Your rights to hunt and sport shoot will not be infringed on. Since there are really no other legitimate uses for firearms, reasonable policies to limit their use are perfectly acceptable.

No problem, everything will be just fine with total DFL control.

It really is hard to watch the blind trust that some of you have for the government to act on your behalf for the continued reinforcement of your rights. For the most part, every law that is passed is an abridging of someones right. The government passes laws so, they are in the business of figuring out how to "make you and the children safer". As mentioned above - as long as the DFL platform says REASONABLE we have nothing to worry about- afterall, if we've learned nothing else from every totalitarian Dictatorship is that the disarming of the citizens was entirely REASONABLE for them to do to allow their authority to be unchallenged.

Go to sleep, don't worry..........the Government is here to help you..............go to sleep.

Whew, I was worried there for a second. Good thing the Constitution says the right to hunt animals shall not be infringed.
