This is the regularly scheduled monthly lunch.

Srigs and I went out reconnoitering for a new spot today. Unfortunately, after checking many places it is an unavoidable fact that downtown is the land of the $10 hamburger.

We settled on The Local.

They have a decent lunch deal - sandwich of your choice, plus a side and soft drink for $10.99. That includes tax and tip.

I'll call tomorrow and see about reserving a private room.

I was going to suggest the Local (but since it's just across the street for me, I didn't want to push too hard for it and be accused of being too lazy to walk far! )

Rock Bottom was another thought I had... too many places downtown just don't have enough space available combined with "reasonable" prices! I'm sure they'd have room at Capital Grille, but ouch $$$ ! The Local's pot roast sandwich is always a good choice! The lunch deal was only $9.99 not too long ago - darned inflation anyway!

It's on my calendar again.

Like I told Srigs yesterday, It's not like we are married to our choice.

Rockbottom is a possibility, though maybe not as private as other options.

The folks at the Hard Rock were very receptive and offered us the use of their private room. The place was almost wide open. I think there were only two or three dining parties in the place.

We're also considering Kieran's and a couple others.

the couple times I've been to this Hard Rock, the food and service wasn't exactly stellar... but I haven't been there lately.

Kieran's would be a hike for me - but I could use the exercise! Loon Cafe could be another option, but not sure how well they can set up for larger group size. What's the other pub by Target Ctr - O'Donovan's maybe? Gluek's, Coyote, Lyon's (might be an issue getting space)

Lots of possibilities! (we can spread it around if people have preferences)
