which show to attend??

Postby armedwalleye on Fri Jan 24, 2014 9:35 am

Recommendation please.
There's a gun show in Hinckley this weekend and one in anoka. Any thoughts from the group on which is a better show to attend and why?

The last show I attended at the Anoka Armory sucked. It was extremely over crowded and prices were very high. I have to admit it was last year during the "drought". I've never been to Hinkley

I've been to the Hinckley one but it was 5 years ago. Good deals back then. But it probably won't be as crowded or as out of line with pricing as Anoka is. It is a pretty small show tho.

Last year at Anoka there was a lot of junk/stuff and not as many guns.
It was more like a flea market leaning towards guns.

And it's still the same. Just got back. LOTS of knives, used holsters, one AR table, smattering of overpriced ammo.
Saw a lot of the same faces and items in Brooklyn Park a couple weeks ago. I'm beginning to think everything from this show operator is the same thing remixed.
Should have gone to Hinckley.

No need to kick yourself in the shorts.
Hinckley is still open from 9am - 3pm on Sunday, or am I wrong?

Anoka Armory was a good show today Sunday. For me any ways. Went there yesterday to try to sell my upgraded and approved XDs. Only selling because I prefer my sub compact. Fits my hand better and I hit better with it. So yesterday I inquired about splitting a table with a hats guy today. He told me I could have the table as he would not be there, he is in a fishing contest today & I got the table for $20. Still got the XDs but sold a S&W .38 SPL and quite a bit of ammo. My first time ever selling at a show. Was lots if fun. Some great dealers there. Seemed like they all had to see what the new guy had and I had sales to them pre show. Pretty good and friendly group of guys and I enjoyed all the patrons who visited "my" table

Talked to a guy that went to Hinckley, lots of books, army surplus, tools, and pretty much everything but guns.
