Re: Revolvers v. autos for pocket carry

I sit on it in church. Does your wallet bother you? How about your snuff can? Really, it's not a problem. Your ass just gets used to whatever you keep in your back pockets (as long as its not a monkey skull or a bag of kittens). As a matter of fact, I don't carry a wallet in a back pocket for just ...

Well, but it sounds uncomfortable to sit on. Especially if you're inclined to slouch in any chair, like me.

Re: Revolvers v. autos for pocket carry

Well an auto pistol is narrow, through and through. You don't have the bulge of a cylinder on an auto. I have an LCP with a pocket holster I usually carry in my coat pocket during the winter and my pants pocket when it's warmer. I've had zero issue with it snagging on anything or feeling uncomforta...

Revolvers v. autos for pocket carry

Maybe I have just never had an opportunity to try the right kind of auto in a pocket holster, but the J-frame-sized Taurus titanium 5-shot snubbie I carry just about daily has one advantage: Like all small revolvers, it sort of tapers towards both ends, muzzle and grip. This creates a kind of oyster...

Re: Colt AR15 in .22LR - wassup?

Well, glad I asked. These responses are clearing my mind on the subject. It sounds as if the M&P might be the better buy. Thanks!

Colt AR15 in .22LR - wassup?

I am sorta semi-knowledgable about a few handguns, but when it comes to the AR family, not even slightly. I am as a child. So, today at a gunshow I saw this interesting Colt M4 .22LR for something under $600. It's supposedly identical to an AR, except for the parts where it has to be different, but ...

Re: Hammerless 357

Fire a +P in a snub through a chronograph. The fire a 57 load through the chrony. That'll tell you the real difference. It will be "not nuch". Next, do a rapid fire at a close target, and see how fast you can do a followup shot. You might decide you actually have more firepower with the 3...

Re: What is the DEAL with tiny, faded-out type?

The ambiguity here annoyed me so I screen capped THR(known good, I guess) and MNgt. The dots with numbers next to them are the same size. I assure you that I have not customized anything here, any size discrepancies are due to PEBKAC . That said, when zoomed waaayy out THR looks a little(10%) darke...

Re: What is the DEAL with tiny, faded-out type?

Sorry, I slipped off the edge of the world for a day or two, there, and didn't reply right away to all these helpful suggestions. Anyway, I do appreciate all the remedies proposed, but they mostly amount to just zooming in -- increasing the apparent size of the text with a fix that also spreads the ...

Re: What is the DEAL with tiny, faded-out type?

if you are talking about this: which is what I think you are takling about then it is mostly used for somebody trying to make a joke, or put a cute little disclaimer down below something they just said. Sorta like this: Strad is a cheese-head wearing, raw-burger eating, big meaniehead, with a dog w...

The text typeface used in this forum (and many others). Somehow I thought that was obvious.

What is the DEAL with tiny, faded-out type?

It's become a commonplace thing, you see it on almost every forum, but almost all the boards I visit have type like this, itty-bitty and grayed-out. What's point, making the whole thing easier on the eyes? If so, making people squint to read it -- gray 6-point type on a blinding white background -- ...

Re: compact gun question

So I got out earlier today to fire the new p3at and boy oh boy does that sucker kick. I was holding it pretty solid to avoid a problem due to limp-wrist. After 12rds through it my trigger finger was both throbbing and going numb. Little sucker is accurate, and I figure in a life or death situation ...

Re: compact gun question

...but I have yet to see one that would be more than about 2 ounces lighter then mine. (I think it weighed 14 ounces, empty, last time I put it on a sensitive scale.) But 2 ounces hardly seems worth it. It's getting to the point that the ammo is a big chunk of the total weight of the package. Kelte...

Re: compact gun question

I'm a pretty average-sized guy, and, like most people, if some object is too heavy or too big, I will just wind up not carrying it. I'll find reasons not to carry. So, for me, my J-frame-sized Taurus titanium Plus-P .38 Special, five-shot, is light and compact enough that when I slide it into my Mik...
