Re: ***PROPOSED GUN CONTROL IN ST PAUL YOU WONT BELIEVE IT***

Even the DFL knows this can't pass. What they do know, is they have a big bad moonbat proposal hanging out there, that can be used a leverage tool. Expect to see them offer lees burdensome (yet still horrible) bills, as a compromise. i.e. If you swallow this UBC bill, we won't try and push HF3022 fo...

Re: BCG question

Carbon, with a touch more than normal copper. The latter part is pretty common in new AR's (especially of the gas port is on a land) until the sharp edge of the gas port gets suitably burnished. Soak it hard in solvent, and use a carbon removal tool if you feel the need, but it's not really an issue.

Re: .224 Valkyrie? Any insight?

Not much said at SHOT about the 224. So far only 4 manufactures I have seen is making uppers or complete rifles. Maybe they ran their mouths off before they thoroughly tested it and found something. I will wait awhile and see what happens. Wrapped my money up on another toy anyways so will have to ...

Re: Can a VP9SK handle 150 grain Federal HST 9mm?

Derp. https://i.imgflip.com/1ikfqd.jpg https://youtu.be/zYTd1lNx_TQ Based on the 147? Sure, but not the same bullet. Skiving changes, cannelure location changes, etc. It’s the same bullet with a minor jacket redesign. None of the bullets are 150gr. Unless the guy that invented that ...

Re: Can a VP9SK handle 150 grain Federal HST 9mm?

I’m gonna blow everybody’s mind here... The 150gr HST is actually the same as the 147gr HST. When I say “the same”, I mean that it’s the same bullet and it’s actually 147gr. Federal only sells 150gr commercially (and not to LE), because it’s a marketing ploy. It gets people interested in a “new” ro...

Re: Best Brand of ammo

Most likely, the advisory against steel and aluminum cases, relates back to the fluted chambers of HK's. Steel and brass do not have the expansion properties of brass under pressure, and cause a poor chamber seal in the fluted chambers of HK products. The rearward gas flow, and lower pressure in the...

Re: Best polishing areas for 1911?

Ugh, dremel. Those things are almost never the right tool, for any job.’smiths do 95% of their polish work, with India stones, and always with an eye for how the parts move and slide directionally. As well, stones will keep your surfaces flat, where a rotary tool may create a shiny finish, it’s alwa...

Any way you shake it, it seems that shoot first, damage control later is a failed tactic...
